Gary Dourdan Pleads Guilty To Drug Charges, Avoids The Slammer

Gary Dourdan presented in court today for his arraignment hearing, and the actor pleaded guilty to two counts of felony drug possession.

Arrested on April 28, Gary was found asleep in his car on the wrong side of the road. Inside the vehicle authorities found heroin, cocaine and ecstacy.

Gary originally claimed that the drugs did not belong to him saying in a previous statement, “I am blessed that the Sgt. realized that the luggage carrying whatever they found was not mine and that my tests have been coming

back negative.”

Today in court the heroin charge was dropped, and Gary was sentenced to 16-classes of a drug treatment program.

“He very much regrets what happened and he’s very embarrassed by what occurred, but he’s looking forward to moving on and getting back to work,” said his lawyer. “He is very grateful to the court for being understanding and giving him an opportunity to resolve the issue and move forward.”

Gary faced a possible sentence of 3 years and 8 months in jail based on the original charges.
